ApiBikes.com/Specialized/Metrow Foods ace tandem pairing of Glenn Taylor and Zak Carr broke the competition record for 25 miles on a tandem on Sunday morning in the timetrial.co.uk promotion at Oxford. Taking 23 seconds off the 1998 record set by Ewan Hendon & Les Palmer, Carr & Taylor recorded 46.21 to beat an Anglia Velo pairing of Andy Hutchinson & Jim Burgess by exactly two minutes. Carr & Taylor now hold the tandem competition records at 10, 25 and 30 miles.
Also on Sunday, Andy Page won the Eastern Counties Cycling Association 10, and led Api to the team award along with Chris Worsfold and Elaine Barrow.
The previous day saw James Millard extend his lead in the Rudy Project Espoirs Circuit Series, as he beat his nearest rival in the Espoirs category by over two minutes in the Mid-Shropshire Wheelers event.
