A good weekend for the Api Bikes.com/Specialized/Metrow Foods team with Chris Brooking scored a double victory, taking the Anglia Velo 10 mile TT near Bury St.Edmunds on Saturday, in a time of 20.13, winning by 9 seconds from Ben Mickleburgh (West Suffolk Wheelers). Zak Carr and Glenn Taylor exerted their tandem skills in the accompanying event, winning in 18.20 by 59 seconds from an Anglia Velo pairing of Jim Burgess and Andy Hutchinson.
Brooking was in action again on Sunday morning in the Century Road Club 25 near Hertford, and even a front-wheel puncture 7 miles from the finish couldn't stop him winning. Borrowing a spare from a near-by marshal, Brooking was soon underway again. Despite losing around a minute, his 55.41 was nearly 2 minutes clear of David Lane (Blue Sky Cycles), who recorded 57.20
James Millard and Duncan Alexander were in action in the Rudy Project Circuit Series National event in Doncaster. Millard consolidated his lead at the top of the Espoirs category as he finished second behind Neil Coleman (VC St Raphel), and in the senior category, Alexander was 4th behind series leader Mike Hutchinson (Team MDT).
The team is now looking forward to next weekend's National 50 miles championships.
