TEAM API BIKES CELEBRATE FESTIVAL WIN

The APi Bikes.com/Specialized/Metrow Foods squad succesfully defended their overall title at the 25th Eastern Counties Cycling Association Festival, based at High Easter, over the weekend.

Star riders were Duncan Alexander, who won the Eastway 10 by nearly a minute and a half on Saturday, and took the ECCA Road Race Championship title with 5th place behind Rowan Horner (VC St Raphael) in the 83 mile Senior Road Race, and Zak Carr, who won an amazing 3 races on Bank Holiday Monday.

Carr, on the comeback from knee surgery, first claimed the 7km time-trial on a technical course around the North Essex Lanes, then paired up with team-mate Glenn Taylor to win the 2-up 25, before winning the final event of the weekend, the 10 mile time-trial. Carr had also won the solo 25 mile time-trial on Sunday.

Despite riding the tough Espoirs National Road Race champs the day before, James Millard ran Carr close in the 7km and 10m events, helping to secure team victories and important festival points for APi.
