March:

March 30th: Wins Rolling In!
Wins for Kevin Chambers, Glenn Taylor and a double for Zak Carr now mean that Api are only one shy of 20 wins for the season, and it's only March!  Chambers took the LVRC Summer Series event at Eastway with a 15-lap solo breakaway, winning by 45 seconds.  Taylor was the outstanding winner of the Vegetarian C&AC Medium Gear 10, spinning an amazing 128rpm to win by 50 seconds.  And Carr led Api to team Victory in the ECCA 10 as he won the event, and took the Great Yarmouth 25 by three minutes the following day!

March 24th: Chambers wins LVRC Road Race
Kevin Chambers won a 4-up sprint in the Glendene promotion at Debden on Sunday to take his first road-race win of the year!

March 24th: Api Romp to Breckland Win
The Api quartet of Zak Carr, Sam Barker, Glenn Taylor and Stuart Wright powered to a massive five minute winning margin in the traditional East Anglian team event.  The "B" team of PNuT, Murat Ozdenya, Andy Page and Bruce Hodges were 6th in a tight scrap for the minor placings.

March 16th: Taylor spins to victory
Glenn Taylor won the Diss & District CC medium gear 25 at Scole in Norfolk, in a time of 58.10.  Glenn had a winning margin of over 4 minutes on second-placed Alan Stevenson (East Anglian CC).

March 16th: PNuT take Api's 1st Road Race win of 2003!

A solo attack on the last lap saw PNuT win what was only his second ever scratch road race!  Well done PNuT!  Photo courtesey of race organiser Nigel Grainge.

March 16th: Barker storms to Course Record
Sam Barker won the A5 Rangers 10 in a course record 21:21, and Stuart Wright was 3rd, in the second event of the A5 Rangers weekend, in which Wright was 3rd overall.

March 9th: Carr Smashes Hainault Record
Returning to a more familiar style of racing, Zak Carr won the Hainault RC 50km Hilly time trial in a course-record 1.7.56, in what were very tough and windy conditions.  Backed by James Millard, second for a second consecutive year, and Geoff Frost, Carr led ApiBikes.com to the team prize to boot.

March 9th: Barker and Wright Take Border 20
A trip to Hampshire was rewarded with a 46-second victory for Sam & Stuart in the Border CA Open 2-up 20m event, on the roads that will be used for June's National 25.  Sam & Stuart's time of 43.49 makes light of the tough winds faced by the riders on the A31.

March 8th: ECCA 10
Chris Brooking and Glenn Taylor claimed 3rd and 4th in the first Counties event of the season at Aythorpe Roding.  High winds meant hard work coming back from the turn.  The event was won by John Sullivan (Vegetarian C&AC).

March 2nd: PNuT 2nd in Maldon Hilly
Mark Arnold collected his second second place of the weekend in the Maldon and District Hilly 20m time trial, a scant 9 seconds behind winner Stuart Clarke.  PNuT lead teammates Martin Meades and Alan Cornish to the team prize.

March 2nd: Chambers 5th in ERRL opener
Kevin Chambers got the Api challenge for the Essex Road Race League off to a steady start with 5th place in the Crest CC Spring Road Race.  Kevin started the race-winning break with eventual victor Simon Howes, and as the break of 10 was whittled down during the event, ended up sprinting home 3rd in the race for 3rd place.

March 1st: Carr Laps the Field
In the supporting race at the Simon Hook meeting, Api star Zak Carr lapped the field having attacked from the gun!  Once Carr was safely back in the fold, Mark 'PNuT' Arnold went on the attack, and his persistence was rewarded with 2nd place!  In the main event, a last-lap puncture put paid to Martin Meades' chance of a top finish.  Paul Pickup (Liphook Cycles) was the worthy winner, breaking away after half-distance, to finish 45 seconds clear.  In the Under-16's, Kristian Downs was denied back-to-back Eastway wins as he finished 2nd.

February:

Feb 23rd: PNuT 16th in North Road Hardriders
Mark Arnold was a creditable 16th in this early season classic, shortened to around 22 miles due to roadworks, in a quality field won by World Points Race champion Chris Newton.  This despite riding his roadbike - because he wanted to ride home after the event!

Feb 22nd: Downs Wins At Eastway

Talented Juvenile Kristian Downs won in a lone breakaway in the Lea Valley promotion at the Eastway circuit.  Originally part of a break of three that had escaped earlier in the race, Downs jumped away with several laps remaining to take the chequered flag.  In the E/1/2/3 race, Dean Wakelin was 9th.

Feb 16th: Barker Takes Ely Hardriders
Sam Barker has taken Api's first win of the new season, recording 58.24 for the tough East Anglian season opener, in temperatures barely above freezing!  Sam had to contend with gritty hairpins and corrugated road surfaces to come in over 30 seconds ahead of the second-placed rider, as only three riders broke the hour.  PNuT put his new lo-pro to the test for 6th place in 1.01.51.

Feb 14th: Simon Hook:  The 8th Simon Hook Memorial meeting, being held on the 1st of March at Eastway, is attracting a quality field, including last year's Premier Calendar winner John Tanner.  Details here.
